Verizon Scores on 8 Domains

Verizon has laid claim to eight parked domains after a World IP Organization Arbitration and Mediation Center panel found that the original registrations were filed in bad faith.

The disputed domain names all used the Verizon trademark alongside various gTLDs. All of the domains ended with ‘Canada’, while some incorporated the word ‘wireless’.

The disputed domain names include verizon-canada.com, verizon-canada.info, verizon-canada.net, verizon-canada.org, verizonwireless-canada.com, verizonwireless-canada.info, verizonwireless-canada.net and verizonwireless-canada.org

Sole panelist David Perkins said this use was evidence of bad faith, as the Verizon trademark has a strong reputation and is widely known worldwide.
